New Gonjasufi album

Mystic desert living yoga freak and destroyer of microphones Gonjasufi is releasing a new mini-album, entitled ‘MU.ZZ.LE’ through Warp on January 23rd 2012.

With his tripped out voice, that veers from guttural rapping to Bad Brains style hardcore rushes, Gonjasufi is a fascinating and groundbreaking artist.

We saw him live earlier this year
and it was one of the best gigs I’ve seen all year, swerving from the tripped out freakiness of his album to a neo-hardcore rush with spiritual yearnings and stoned wackoid trips.

The new album is the follow up proper to last year’s excellent debut ‘A Sufi & A Killer’ whose production (by Flying Lotus and The Gaslamp Killer) under pinned the variation of styles from freakbeat droning psych, really out there edges of cosmic hip-hop, hardcore thrashed and touches of outer space soul.
