There has never been a X-mas team up like it”¦ well at least not since Elton John and Kiki Dee destroyed all comers with ”˜Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’ back in 1976

However, we all know what musicians are like, ever creative, driven by an overwhelming desire to express themselves ”“ well a few of then have channelled their desires into a real bastard love child team up!

Just when you thought PERISCOPE (Martin Swinny) had done just about it all (Swinny being the original Inspiral Carpets drummer and founder of super group The Hungry Sox, which featured, Mani of The Stone Roses/Primal Scream, Clint Boon of Inspiral Carpets, Chris Goodwin of The High/Electronic and Andy Housley of The Cradle), he has gone and done it again – or perhaps as never before; by teaming up with The Three Johns legendary songwriter-frontman-artist, vocalist and lyricist, John Hyatt.

Their 50/50 superhero team up is called ‘Tomorrow Today and Yesterday’ and has been released as a video track on YouTube. It is the first song of others in the pipeline to be released in 2012.

And if that wasn’t enough we are hearing rumours of a long overdue release of the Hungry Socks material.

Phil Newall is 47, from The Wirral - he earns his living not writing about music nor playing music...though sorely wishes he could. He was fortunate enough to see many of the first generation punk bands when they played the U18's matinee shows at Eric's, Liverpool. As an attendee at Eric's he was exposed to punk rock, dub reggae, art rock, and all manner of weirdness; as a customer at Probe Records he was variously served and scowled at by Pete Wylie and Pete Burns - he has written for Record Collector, Whisperin & Hollerin, and Spiral Scratch and wanted to write a book detailing the Liverpool punk scene; however with 'Head-On' Julian Cope beat him to it...and frankly did a much better job.
