It’s an almost impossible trick to take the glorious rush of underground rock and make it into pop music without losing any of the imagination and energy but the band have pulled it off.

The two piece of Jonathan Meager and Lee Bowden both live in York. and have only been doing this for a little over a year.

Pretty broad musically – everything off Dischord records (esp. Fugazi and Minor Threat), Husker Du, No Age, Comet Gain, TV Personalities, Xiu Xiu….countless really! We both love stuff like berlin techno, Modeselektor, bpitch too.

‘I guess the other biggest influence on us trying to make the most of our time outside of our jobs, sort of like the Situationists would’ve said “live without dead time.”’

We are part of a collective that runs a night in the Victorian basement of an art gallery called “Wrong Side of the River” . Us and some friends got tired with the insular and ego based focus of the local music scene here so just started putting on shows in the space. We saved up, bought a pa, started with our friends bands and grew it from there. We’ve had some amazing people play ”“ Milk Maid, The Babies, Brown Brogues, Pifco, Bhurgeist, Float Riverer etc”¦ We have a record stall, cakes for sale, project movies on to the bands etc”¦ We’re committed to it being all ages and BYOB.

  1. I truly appreciate this post. I’ve been looking all over for this! Thank goodness I found it on Bing. You have made my day! Thx again!

  2. Quran (4:104) – “And be not weak hearted in pursuit of the enemy; if you suffer pain, then surely they (too) suffer pain as you suffer pain…”

  3. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

  4. I think this is among the most significant information for me. And i am glad reading your article. But wanna remark on some general things, The website style is great, the articles is really nice : D. Good job, cheers

  5. Very interesting details you have mentioned , appreciate it for posting . “Never call an accountant a credit to his profession a good accountant is a debit to his profession.” by Charles J. C. Lyall.

  6. The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

  7. Wow, fantastic blog structure! How lengthy have you ever been running a blog for? you made blogging glance easy. The entire look of your site is fantastic, as neatly as the content!
