New band of the day : Dumbjaw – anyone ready for the grunge revival?
Dumbjaw: anyone ready for the grunge revival?
: one killer trio that has more or less revived the exhilarating and longed for Grunge genre, not only so, but they’ve very well maintained the entire spirit that goes along with it!
Established in January 2011, and thus far have been quite discreet and gladly gigging around London’s most underground pubs and venues! Although their music falls within the lines of alternative rock, seeing them live would alter any generalized opinions! Complete DIY self-released tracks spread across the internet and downright talented recklessness on stage!
I caught them live on the 7th of February at Nambucca/London. It isn’t just your average alternative rock band! With Jamie Oliver (UK SUBS Drummer) on the drums, Lenny Verrallis dominating the vocals and guitar and Jimmy Woodford on the bass; their diverse influences, and charismatic qualities and stage sarcasm and wit will definitely catch the attention of anyone who isn’t just following the herd in accordance to what’s in or out! They’re 3 of the most fun, most down to earth, most motivated guys I’ve came across recently! Those of us who wake up in the morning in pursuit of Rock n’ Roll should go check them out ASAP! They’re live again at the Purple Turtle/London on the 26th of March, Kasabah in Coventry on the 30th and at Karns Bar/Hinckley on the 31st. Definitely worth a listen.
