Manchester based duo Rubberbear have some real form behind them, one of them used to be in The Fall and the other is in New Order. We featured their debut single last year and liked it a lot … they have now returned with something even greater and sound like a band / project that is going places.

They have just put out a new EP called ‘Elements EP’…

The three songs on the Soundcloud reflect their eclectic style with My Addiction being the most upbeat angry one, whilst the others are more proggy and cinematic.

Rubberbear comprise of Tom Chapman (New Order) and Steve Trafford (ex The Fall).

Rubberbear were formed in early 2013 and found instant success with radio airplay for their debut EP “Let’s Move Somewhere Else” and accompanying video, starring acclaimed actress, Maxine Peake (which you can hear/see here –

 

While Tom was busy last year touring with New Order, he and Steve continued to write and record at every opportunity in order to exploit what they had found to be a great songwriting partnership, showing great success with very little promotion.

It is planned to gig in 2014, with future releases in the pipeline.

The new EP ‘Elements’ is on general release now, and features long standing New Order guitarist, Phil Cunningham, along with Tom and Steve.
