New Artist Of The Day: Houdini DaxHailing form Cardiff the sharp suited and bequiffed Houdini Dax write great ribald rousing songs that have a whiff of the brylcreemed fifties about them whilst somehow being perfect for an crowd of wild kids as recent supports with pigeon Detectives and the thinkers end of lad rock have proven.

There is something of the Arctic Monkeys about the band – that classic British songwriting with a dark twist of Americana in the chassis, but they never take their eye of the ball when it comes to good times, uplifting music and the songs have an inbuilt sing-along thing going on- they manage to walk the tightrope between art and populist and with a bit of luck could be massive.
