New Artist Of The Day: Education For Death

The latest release of Tim Burgess’s OGenesis Recordings, Education For Death, exist in a swirl of mystery.

The band give very little away in biographical detail apart taking their name from a Walt Disney nazi bashing propaganda cartoon from 1943.

They’re from Italy with a nod to Australia’s My Disco and British artist / musician Martin Creed but make brilliant scratchy, energised death to trad rock guitar shocks ‘With a minimal agit rock sound that’s 2013 with one foot in 1983.’

There’s no biog details about them meeting over a mutual love of Throbbing Gristle or anything. There’s not really much information at all. Some of it you can guess.

You can guess they like things with an experimental side and were perfect O Genesis label mates for the likes of Nik Void, Throwing Up and Pavlov’s Children. Songs on the 5 track EP…

Kids – the sound of youthful aggression
Emma – a cool repetitious mantra
Colloquial Union – Euro beat panache

Drums Marcello Concari Vocals, Guitar Mattias Dahlberg
