Mr George

Wolverhampton band Mr George’s Famous Last Words have unveiled the video for their single ‘Oh My Sarah’, which is available to stream on YouTube.

The five-piece band’s EP, Young Man, was produced by Gavin Monaghan, a West Midlands mainstay who has not only produced a range of bands local to the area, but also established acts such as Editors, Ocean Colour Scene and Nizlopi.

‘Oh My Sarah’ is the standout track from the record, a contemplative, breezy rocker replete with chiming guitars, maudlin pianos and George Langman’s sweet roar, which all bring to mind the polished reflections of Matchbox Twenty, R.E.M. and Counting Crows. With an infectious chorus and a grandiose breakdown, the video matches the song’s sheen – a snapshot of dashed romanticism downplayed by a moody Langman, who is perched in a field strumming away his sorrows.

“We can’t turn back the time, we can’t carry on pretending everything’s fine,” Langman cries. Maybe not, but at least we’ve got this song out of it.
