It may not be a Neolithic stone circle but as a local landmark the Sighthill stone circle in Glasgow means almost as much to locals.

Plans by the local council to knock the stones down has resulted in a local fury and a campaign led by the great Scottish band Mogwai is underway to attempt to save the stones.

Stuart Braithwaite from the band has a personal interest in preserving the stones, his father helped build the only Neolithic stone circle made in modern times in Glasgow in the seventies and is angry that the council are planning on knocking it down to build flats.

Any help anyone could give to the campaign to preserve the stones would be invaluable.
