number 2 in Erica Nockall’s top 5 albums Nigel Kennedy – Vivaldi’s Four Seasons

My Dad (Martin Nockalls) played this in the back of our mid 1980’s family
car. As a 6 year old I apparently stated vehemently that “I want to play
those high notes!”. I took me pestering until my 7th birthday to persuade my
parents that I should play the violin. Dad is an awesome classical
guitarist, and understandably would have preferred me to follow in his
footsteps, possibly knowing how much a classical education in the violin
world would cost versus that of free guitar tuition. The violin though, for
me, was THE sound. Wanting to learn the instrument for me was like feeling
the need to learn how to speak.
