There has been a lot of stuff said about the riots. Most of it confused, a lot of it a bit Daily Mail and some of it informed.
Now Fall frontman Mark E Smith has weighed into the debate with a mini rant on 6music that we overheard this afternoon on 6music.
The context was discussing the new Fall album, ‘Ersatz GB‘ , which details the caustic wordsmith’s view on crappy modern UK. Typically Smith gave a nod to late Libyan dictator Colonol Gaddafi and the bible in his comments.
The rioters came for a tongue lashing from Smith who claimed that,
‘I agree with Colonel Gaddafi. Too much laptops, too much Nescafe, that is what he said you know. It’s quite biblical actually, it was predicted in the bible. about. people are just protesting about what they don’t really know anything about. What makes me laugh is that they always seem very well dressed, they don’t seem very ragged.”
Colonol Gadaffi was not available for comment.
