Madonna, whose world tour this year in support of her new album is rumored to have some pretty expensive tickets has hit back at criticism of tickets prices.
‘Start saving your pennies now. People spend ã190 on crazy things all the time. Things like handbags. So work all year, scrape the money together and come and see my show. I’m worth it.’
She is quite possibly joking. In fact, is almost definitely joking but can such a ticket price be justified in these times? Is there a whiff of Fred The Shred economics going in here? Do pop stars have to be in touch with their fans? Is it like punk never happened? Can a society still prop up multi-millionaire entertainers? Is this a let them eat cake moment or will her show justify the cost of the ticket?
TALK!
Maybe she’s got to pay back all that money the people who ran her charity scammed?
All profits go to a Kabbalah retreat in Malibu.
ha ha, sorry mad donna you aint worth it, and if you do spend £190, she right you are crazy.
I don’t think she’s joking at all. The tickets for her last tour 3 years ago were around £140 I think. It is an unbelievable show she puts on but nobody is worth spending that much on for a gig.
I think this is a light-hearted remark that has been taken way too seriously. I’m a Madonna fan who doesn’t ‘do’ live shows anymore, but she’s one of the greatest performers alive.
She would have to pay me to go and see her!
