Louder Than War Video Premiere: The New Tusk – lofi punk band channeling the spirit of Jawbreaker

“Ripping off your favourite bands since 2013” – The New Tusk’s Facebook page description.

The above quotation, in all honesty, is a complete load of bollocks, as the sound of The New Tusk, though flavoured with some familiar styles and trends, is pretty damn unique.

Above this quote on the page is the made up genre “lo fidelity short attention span punk” which, even though complete gibberish, is a pretty good confirmation that here is a band that is difficult to fit into any simplistic box.

‘I Feel It On My Chest’ is the new video, taken from their upcoming record, Mine To Breathe (another track, ‘Buffer’ can also be found on their Bandcamp page), which is due for release mid-May and is a clear statement of intent that the legacy left by bands like Jawbreaker and The Honor System is still alive, vibrant, and constantly evolving into new and exciting new sounds.

The New Tusk are also embarking on a UK tour next month, the dates for which, among other fun things, can be found on their facebook page. Their ‘Tropical’ cassette tape is available from here: cthrecords.bigcartel.com. They also can be found on Twitter where they tweet as @thenewtusk.
