Roku Shiki 六式
Roku Shiki 六式 have been filling live houses across the metropolis with their brand of stylish energetic new wave rock since the spring of 2008 after a move from Japan’s third largest and most south-westerly positioned island: Kyushu.
The band have released several singles, an album and two of the band keep entertaining and up to date blogs recounting tales of gigs, studio sessions and general day to day shenanigans. Very loud, dynamic and exhilarating, expect nothing less than to be taken on a rock n rock rollercoaster of a ride when Roku Shikitakes to the stage.
Oh Captain! My Captain!
Oh Captain! My Captain! There is an intense quality to the post punk output of OCMC that is brilliantly blended with anthemic pop and rhythmic ska smoothness that gives them an infinitely intriguing angularity. Lead guitarist Mocchi, bassist Happy and Drummer Rashad are fronted by Theo whose vocals are funky, brash & roguish; and the brother like friendship between the band is engaging and entertaining.
Just seven months old the band rose from the ashes of previous bands and they’ve quickly enamoured themselves of the Tokyo live house scene. As such the opportunity to enjoy any of their live performances should not be missed.
Arthur Pentameter are fronted by Canadian born singer songwriter Phil O’Connell and are backed by a passionate rhythm section comprising of guitarist Taroh Yamahara, bassist Ryan Marks and drummer Taka Nishikawa. Together they serve up a professional and stylish melodious progressive rock. Formed in 2012 Arthur Pentameter has been industriously working the Tokyo live house scene, where their powerful performances have been championed by fans of their unconfined intense live style.
i – na否
i – na否 “We are techno popper” proclaim the four piece group i – na, whose energetic and exuberant contemporary electronic shows are sell outs when they appear in Tokyo live houses. The group are comprised of vocalist Rin, guitarist Nori, bassist Moya and drummer Hiro who hail from all over Japan and bring their enthusiastic and colourful personalities together to make a spirited and engaging sound.
