Cernay Fields finale

Cernay Fields finaleToday we’re thrilled to be able to bring to you another premiere, this time of a band, Cheri Cheri Jaguar, recording on the label Haus of PINS, which is, as the name suggests, run by the mighty PINS. Scroll on down for more details & to listen to the track.

Suffused with an eerie, almost goth like charm, this is another band mining the currently in vogue genre of “dark wave”, a strand of music which has been around some time now & which marries together post-punk and shoegazey sounds with the ethereal & glitchy.

A four-piece currently residing a Paris, the track we have for you from Cheri Cheri Jaguar is called Ice and forms one of the tracks, along with Jaguar, on the band’s debut Haus of PINS release, due out on 1st November.

Of the recording process the press release says:

Formed in December 2012, Sacha (Vocals, Synth), Arthur (Guitar), Malik (Drums) and Alex (Bass, Synth) spent the Christmas period jamming together in Paris. After the initial writing sessions, Arthur returned to NYC and the process continued as they sent tracks back and forth over the Atlantic. The trio were then reunited with Arthur in Brooklyn where they recorded the fruits of their labour at Strange Weather (DIIV, Friends, TEEN).

The limited edition release will come out as both a Purple Cassette + CD. There will also be a separate bonus track on each, neither of which will be available as a download so if you’re a real fan who wants to hear everything by the band you’ll have to buy both!

The single release show will be on 25th October in Paris where Cheri Cheri Jaguar will be joined by PINS themselves. To purchase either physical releases visit Haus of PINS website here:

Guy is a former full time member of the Louder Than War editorial team, who's since moved on to pastures new. Music's been a large part of his life since he first stumbled across Peel on his tranny as a fifteen year old. His whole approach to music was learnt from Peel in fact, which includes having as inclusive a taste in music as possible. Guy devotes most of his time looking for new music & although he's been known to say "the only good music is new music" he pretty much accepts this is bollocks. Favourite band The Minutemen.
