Louder Than War Launches Music And Books Festival In Manchester on Nov 15/17

Louder Than War is to launch its first music and literary event in Manchester in November.

Over the weekend of November 15/17 key musicians and music writers will discuss their work, make music and no doubt do everything else!

We will be announcing the full line up in the next week or so, but we have some great music guests- legendary musicians like Wilko Johnson who will be doing a candid in conversation. Also in conversations with Hugh Cornwell, Tim Burgess, Jah Wobble and Creation label boss and the man who signed Oasis Alan McGee as well as great writers and journalists discussing all aspects of music and writing and thought provoking panels like ‘did academics kill rock n roll’ and a women only panel demanding a fairer share of music media for women and loads of other stuff like former Fall members who have written books on their former band discussing how to write about the Fall.

As if that wasn’t enough…

Chris Salewicz talking about the Clash and his brilliant book on Joe Strummer.

Elaine Constantine on Northern Soul and her film on Northern Soul and book on the legendary scene.

Zoe Howe talking about her new Jesus And Mary Chain book with Douglas Harte from the band and loads more stuff like the John Peel Shed, Stella’s brilliant new play about manchester music and panels and lots of great hanging out and talk…and the big quiz!
