Manchester garage punks The 99 Degree return with new single John The Killer.

Manchester might not be the first place one thinks of when it comes to delta blues, yet that’s exactly where The 99 Degree hale from. Providing their own sleaze-soaked iteration of a timeless genre, whilst swapping the banks of Mississippi for those of the Mersey, the latest single from the five-piece draws from the genre’s storytelling traditions, and does so with its own psycedelic spin.

Four minutes of rolling bass and clattering percussion, it’s both ominious and infectious; its atmosphere multiplied by the layered vocals which in turn only serve to strengthen the tracks woozy sense of desceding in to a memorable acid trip.
