Chris Hue and MAY BBY team up on the hauntingly understated Leave, the latest track to be taken from their forthcoming EP.
Bridging the narrow gap between music and art, designer and musician Chris Hue is a young creative who’s already turning heads of across the industry. MAY BBY is a 20 year-old singer/songwriter based in the Netherlands, who takes her influence from a plethora of places, resulting in a vocal delivery that’s both ethereal and confident.
With a natural ear for minimalistic compositions, it makes that Hue should team up with MAY BBY; the pair seem to share a natural understanding evident across their tracks. The latest of which, Leave, is icy and understated and described by the pair as “a very raw and emotional song about the fear of opening yourself up to a new relationship. Being scared of getting hurt whilst also being scared of hurting the other person, a feeling that most people can relate to. Because of the minimal production, highlighting the fragile elegance of MAY’s voice, ‘Leave’ doesn’t feel like your ordinary ballad. It guides you through a wave of significant emotions, creating a cathartic-like experience.”
