‘Grief Is The Thing With Feathers’ is one of LTW’s favourite books – a dark and compelling tale  about coming to terms with grief with a broken family being protected by a flapping, wily and oily life-size crow . The book is brilliantly written – both dark and creepily funny – laced with the kind of black humour that appeals to both the reader and the crow – one of the most intelligent and gods own creatures.

That kind of dark, corvid adventure is our kind of thing and if the news that the book is to be made into a play is not already exciting enough then the fact that another LTW fave – the Italian composer, Teho Teardo has written the score is even better.  Musically this could be the best thing he has done with that trademark visceral sound of his where you can feel and hear the bows hit the strings resembling the flapping high IQ menace of the crow as it embraces the broken family with its mystical wings.

Teho recently worked with Blixa Bargeld (interview them both here) on two album and delivered some great live shows with the Neubauten frontman (live review here).

Stay tuned for more news on this project.
