Manchester post-punk duo Grave Diggers Union return with their typically sonorous and brooding new single, Let Go of Your Belief.

There seems to be something of a post-punk renaissance happening in Manchester at the moment, from bands at the more accessible end of the spectrum like Slow Readers Club, to the uncompromising walls of noise created by Ist Ist. Grave Diggers Union fall at what’s undoubtedly the heavier and even somewhat more experimental end of the the spectrum.

With both the song-writing process and recording process happening concurrently there’s a sense of the unknown that permeates through Grave Diggers Union’s catalogue, one that merges with a feeling of dystopic despondency that’s difficult to shake long after the closing notes of any given track ring out.

The band’s latest single, Let Go of Your Beliefs, is the first to be taken from their forthcoming third EP, and true to form is three minutes of pounding percussion, haunting synths and baritone vocals that combine together to create something unnerving and instantly recognisable.
