July were arguably one of the most perfect psychedelic bands ever and a perfect example of sixties British tripped out music with the  Ealing band recording a clutch of classic songs between 1968 and 1969.

July somehow managed to add layers of every wonk effect and idea to their melodic music and their recordings are textbook examples of how to play with the mind in a lysergic manner marked by lush harmonies,  Analogue meddling, weird filters, and brilliant effects with acoustic guitars, keyboards, and intricate lead guitar work. Somehow they never managed to chart but left behind a clutch of songs like  “My Clown”, “Dandelion Seeds”, and “The Way” and many others which have become underground classics and stand up to the quality of the scene leaders like Pink Floyd and the Beatles.

Brilliantly the band still play the occasional gig – dressed in full psychedelic clothes and light show…
