Lambert announces new album – OpenThe maverick German pianist Lambert will release his seventh album in June 2022.

In the wake of the upcoming release, Lambert shares the title track The Open, accompanied by minimalist and hypnotising performance video.

The album will be Lambert’s third for Mercury KX. Born in Hamburg and currently based in Berlin, the composer musically reflects on the initial lockdown in Germany in the spring of 2020. Comprising 15 concise instrumentals, the record is a both tranquil and restless journey centred on piano and crossing seamlessly between improvised jazz, classical and filmic ambience. Open is also a key to understanding this enigmatic character, who is never seen without his horned Sardinian mask.

Open will be released on 10 June via Mercury KX.
