LISTEN! Kira Skov drops ‘Idea of Love’ – a duet with Mark Lanegan and the new single from her upcoming album SPIRIT TREE.

15 albums in aand Kira Skov is a name we need to know more about. This wonderful  intimate track maybe the moment we get to discover her. With Mark Lanegan guesting it will certainly bring more attention to her world as he delivers one of his greatest vocals – that voice may have never sounded this intimate ona haunting and beautiful piece of music.

“I’ve been a big fan of Mark Lanegan’s voice for a long time, although I had never had any direct contact with him before just recently. When we hooked up, he was very positive – he loved the project, and wanted to be a part of it. Instead of recording a new track, we decided on Idea of Love, which Mark really liked. This song is originally found on my album WHEN WE WERE GENTLE from 2013 and is the only song on the record that wasn’t composed for this release. I think this interpretation exudes a bit of late Johnny Cash from his American Recordings, and the song fits well with Mark’s voice” – Kira Skov

Throughout her career, Kira Skov has collaborated with a multitude of incredible artists, including Tricky, John Parish, Peter Peter, Steen Jørgensen, Lars HUG, Maria Faust, Marie Fisker, Trentemøller, Tore Johansson, Lenny Kaye, and Bonnie Prince Billy.

For her 15th studio album, she delivers a collection of duets featuring many star guests and dedicated to the idea of community: “Exchanges with other artists have always inspired and developed me, both as a songwriter and performer. I’ve tried to cultivate the essence of that, and invited a diverse crowd of guests into my musical universe” Kira explains.

Idea of Love was recorded by Kira Skov at Farvemøllen by Mads Mølgård and Mark Lanegan’s vocals were recorded by Tony O’Flaherty, Sonas Recording, Killarney, Ireland

The full album, SPIRIT TREE, will be released on Stunt Records / Sundance Music on May 14th, 2021.
