2. All Mod Cons – The Jam

LTW : suited and booted the Jam appeared in punk creating an unresolved quandary. Of course they were mods but for me they remain a punk band- a punk band in fire and brimstone Wilko guitar work and Paul Weller’s brilliant lyrics that sang for every council estate in the UK in the period.


Jim Bob : I love The Jam. Paul Weller was my idol. I wrote him letters and sent him awful poems hoping he’d print them in his poetry books that he brought out. It was hard to pick my favourite Jam album but just looking at the sleeve takes me right back to when I first looked at it and heard the music.
