Perhaps the most unlikely looking fairground huckster of these times; Jarvis Cocker takes a break from the Pulp summer festival triumphs and is looking after the dodgems at the following charity event…
Entrance will be by wrist band only, which can be purchased in advance from the Carter Steam website or a limited number of wristbands will be available to purchase on the night.
All proceeds from the wristbands will go to the National Autistic Society.
When Carters Steam Fair roll’s into town it does so with a proud reputation of being the most enchanting Fun Fair on earth, but that enchantment is going to intensify beyond all belief when the world famous Steam Fair arrives in Eel Brook Common, Fulham on Friday17th June.
Every single ride is beautifully restored to its former glory, some dating back to the early 1900’s and in the case of the Gallopers (Carousel) to 1895 but despite the authentic nature of the Fair this time there will be some rather familiar faces on view.
Imagine the Rock n’ Roll Dodgems with Jarvis Cocker in the DJ booth.
Imagine riding the fantastic Lightening Skid with Razorlights Johnny Borrell at the helm.
Imagine a Coconut shy manned by Harry Hill.
Imagine Adam Buxton (Adam & Joe) on the hook a duck.
Add to this, the fantastic rides as well as a guest appearance from Britain’s Got Talents Circus of Horrors and you will be only half way there.
This selected group of celebrities have teamed up with Carters steam fair for one night only to help raise awareness and funds for The National Autistic Society, the UK’s leading charity for people affected by autism. As more celebrities come on board and offer their support of this great event you are sure of a ride of a lifetime.
