‘This is one of the first songs that I ever heard that had a discernible bass line. That is because Ska was probably the first musical genre that pushed bass more to the front of the mix, so as to get people grooving at dances. Carlton and Aston Barrett are credited by many as the rhythm section. To my ears, that sounds right.’
