Nigel Humberstone : One of Morricone’s lesser know film scores for Giuliano Montaldo’s 1971 film dramatising the events surrounding the trial of Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti, Italian-born anarchists convicted of murder in the US, 1920. Joan Baez’s contribution, especially on the ‘Ballad of Sacco & Vanzetti’, is unforgettable.
