Iceage release ltd edition 7″ ‘Ecstasy’ – watch the video here…

Iceage reveal the first video from their forthcoming album ‘You’re Nothing’ with Ecstasy, the album’s opening track. We’ve listened to this a couple of times and reckon that it shows the bands developing dynamics; the song shifts gears with its pace, emotion and ramping tension in both the music and lyrics.

Ecstasy appears on a new 7″ single which also features the previously shared Coalition and a new, non-album track ‘A Rifle’. Limited to 1000 copies, it’s available to pre-order from Matador (USA) and Escho (Denmark).

Currently on tour in America, the band return to the UK following the release of You’re Nothing for the below live dates:

25 February – Broadcast, Glasgow
26 February – Shipping Forecast, Liverpool
27 February – Shakespeare’s, Sheffield
28 February – Electrowerkz, London
1 March – The Albert, Brighton
2 March РChameleon Arts Caf̩, Nottingham

Phil Newall is 47, from The Wirral - he earns his living not writing about music nor playing music...though sorely wishes he could. He was fortunate enough to see many of the first generation punk bands when they played the U18's matinee shows at Eric's, Liverpool. As an attendee at Eric's he was exposed to punk rock, dub reggae, art rock, and all manner of weirdness; as a customer at Probe Records he was variously served and scowled at by Pete Wylie and Pete Burns - he has written for Record Collector, Whisperin & Hollerin, and Spiral Scratch and wanted to write a book detailing the Liverpool punk scene; however with 'Head-On' Julian Cope beat him to it...and frankly did a much better job.
