IMG_5731One of the great architects of modern music and the bass player and engineer behind those wonderful Can records Holgar Czukay has died at 79.

The German band expanded the possibilities of rock music in the seventies with each new generation since then being more and more inspired by their sense of adventure and their avante funk grooves and supple hypnotic rhythms.

We met Holgar a couple of times and his infectious enthusiasm and eye twinkling sense of humour were  more than engaging.
