Happy Mondays reform rumour- confirmed
Happy Mondays reform rumour- confirmed

The Happy Mondays are to reform for series of big shows the summer and a tour in May. With the Stone Roses about to announce the support bill for their Heaton Park shows, this looks a Madchester summer.

The Happy Mondays reformation is now official.

We first ran the story below, two weeks ago.

Shaun Ryder confirmed the rumour on XFM today.

We have known the story for a few weeks but have been sworn to secrecy but the story is now out.

The band were waiting to get all the original members in place including our mate Rowetta.

This is a proper full reformation of the band at it will be great to see some of the long lost members back in action. In a year that has seen the Stone Roses reformation we need these old folk heroes back.

Official confirmation should follow soon…

  1. Bummed out.
No we DON’T “need these old folk heroes back” in their former incarnations, at all.
I wish all these [once] great bands would quit being hell bent on reforming and having pointless renunions to appease their midlife crises.
Move along to ventures new and get over the fact that it’s OVER already!

  2. Don’t see what the problem is. The music scene today is pants, so it’ll be good to get some of the more decent bands back on the go. If you don’t agree, don’t go and see them.

  3. @ RG. I don’t see it as nor have a problem with it as such. I just feel it’s a pointless exercise when bands try revisiting their past glory days, even when releasing new material.

As for your comment: “The music scene today is pants”.
I suggest you get out more, open your ears and listen up to the hundreds of new bands out there that are pissing all over old has-beens who were (once) good back in the day.
The music scene today is very much alive and kicking, as this excellent blog is always keen to point out.
Try listening to some of the newer bands that Mr. Robb et al on here keep us informed about and drag yourself into the present day instead of living in the past.
As for seeing the Mondays live. Been there several times, enjoyed them a couple of times but won’t be witnessing a group of blokes trying to recapture something that quickly became stale the first time around.
    Chin-chin.

  4. Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

  5. I’ve recently started a website, the information you offer on this site has helped me greatly. Thank you for all of your time & work. “The very ink with which history is written is merely fluid prejudice.” by Mark Twain.
