Happy Mondays Cancel Barcelona and Madrid dates

Yesterday tour manager Warren Askew (tour manager ) confirmed that newly reformed band The Happy Mondays have cancelled both gigs which were due to be played in Catalunya and Spain.

The band were due to play sala Razamataz in Barcelona on the 18th of October supported by Soulsavers and a guest dj slot by Stone Roses bassist Mani. The following day they were due to play at the Espacio venue in Madrid as part of the official FAC51 Hacienda event with support from Peter Hook & the light.

The band this year have cancelled the Japan, Australia, Singapore tour with Official statements putting it down to Drummer Gaz Whelen´s health. Another theory is high ticket prices and low ticket sales which have resulted in the band pulling out of sceduled dates.
