Golden Fable Album Launch
St Giles Parish Church, Wrexham,
Saturday September 8th, 7pm
This coming Saturday see’s the launch party for the debut album of the highly regarded indie duo known as Golden Fable. Attendance may not be mandatory but if Dave Jennings is to be believed (see below) it’s strongly recommended.
If you’re around the North Wales region on Saturday, it’s well worth making the effort to attend the album launch of Golden Fable’s debut, ”ËStar Map’. The duo consists of Tim MacIver and Rebecca Palin and they have already made an impression with airplay from Jen Long and Huw Stephens on Radio 1, Gideon Coe on BBC 6 Music and being described as ”Ëmagnificent’ by no less than Elbow’s Guy Garvey.
Golden Fable are heavily influenced by the natural environment of their North Wales cottage and their mellifluous and trance-like sound aims to celebrate the myths and legend of this special part of the world. It’s fitting that their debut should be launched in the ancient and beautiful surroundings of St Giles Parish Church.
Support will be provided by Shy and The Fight whose spellbinding alternative folk-pop will be an excellent complement to the evening, as will the Welsh singer-songwriter Meilir. Add in DJ sets from Gallops (just back from a tour of China) and BBC Wales Adam Walton and the admission price of ten pounds seems like the bargain of the year. An excellent night is in prospect.
