Double A side single/Ltd edition vinyl

Bristol 5 piece follow their brilliant debut EP with a rich sounding and quirky new double A side single, and there’s more to come later in the year.

Having scored some great press and festival shows, and with support from BBC 6, Bristol’s Goan Dogs deliver their second release, following on from their well received debut EP, 20 Minutes From The Border. Another cinematic sonic adventure, the new double A-side single, Nothing Like This/Never Gonna Let You Down was mixed by Euan Dickinson (Massive Attack), and released recently as a ltd edition vinyl for Record Store Day.

Goan Dogs have a quirky sound that takes in a lot of influences, and they all fit together nicely, without any awkwardness. Nothing Like This boasts a strong bass part with drifting guitars around it, and powerful gospel like backing vocals that are loud and prominent in the mix. A lazy rockabilly guitar leads the way throughout Never Gonna Let You Down, again with strong backing vocals and a busy shuffling beat. At times it’s like listening to Stray Cats on night out with a gospel choir in Mexico. The production on both songs is big, but with plenty of space, giving the various elements breathing space.

And the band have been busy recording their next EP, which will be released in September this year.
