Doesn’t look like there will be a Sex Pistols reunion in the near future if at all.
Glen was speaking at the launch of the I’ve Got You In My Camera – Punk 1976-1979 exhibition at the Olympus-Rockarchive Image Space Gallery in London.
Glen Matlock told the Daily Mirror that he hasn’t spoken to John Lydon for five years and has ruled out a reunion “I haven’t seen John for five years and I’m quite happy about that. I’ve had no cause to speak to him. We don’t have anything planned. There is nothing I know of in the offing and I’m really not that fussed about it. I have no idea if we will reform but who knows the secret of black magic box. I wouldn’t write new Sex Pistols material, we’re fine with the old stuff.”
Glen also had harsh words for that famous butter advert.
“I think (the advert) was a bit cheesy. I think he was trying to move on from being Jonny Rotten. It’s always measured against the Sex Pistols, whether he has moved on from that I don’t know. That is his way of trying.”
On the other members of the band Glen said “I see Paul every now and again and I see Steve once in a while, he lives in Los Angeles and I’ll look him up. He can be a bit of a miserable sod so I don’t always do that.”
