Fresh from helping to organise the brilliant Focus Wales, Wrexham rockers The Roseville Band are about to embark on a major North American tour. Awarded Standout International Act at NXNE, Toronto in 2012, the band have gone from strength to strength over the pond.
Speaking to Louder Than War, frontman Andy Jones explained:
“We’ve been received really well by audiences in Canada on our tours out there, and so this tour is giving us a great chance to build on that with the shows in Toronto for Canadian Music Week. Plus we’re also gonna get to play our first shows in the US. We’ve had lots of radio play in the US, which has been great, but it’ll be great to finally get out there and play to people!”
The band were surprised at how much interest there was in them in Canada:
“We first discovered that our 2nd LP was picking up airplay in Canada and the US in 2011, which came as a bit of a surprise at the time.
“After that we were invited to play CMW and then NXNE 2012 in Toronto, after which we were kindly awarded ‘Standout International Act’. That really helped to generate some buzz out there, which eventually led to the band signing with Pipe & Hat / Fontana North in North America – who released our 3rd LP ‘TEMPER’ last summer. We toured Canada quite a bit last year, which was amazing, and we’re excited with the way everything’s developing so quickly.”
There’s also the promise of some great new material in the offing:
“We’re working on album 4 right now, which we’re all really excited about, and so we’re looking forward to gigging some of the new songs on this tour, and give audiences a little teaser of what’s to come.”
The Roseville Band play a gig in Telford’s Warehouse, Chester on Friday May 2nd before flying across the Atlantic where their tour starts in NYC on Monday May 4th
