Foo Fighters ode to same sex loving…

Foo Fighters are currently touring the USA ”“ however the tour has recently sparked controvesey; The band were slated to appear in Kansas City’s Spirit Center on the 31st August; when the Westboro Baptist Church announced they intended to protest the gig.

Members of the controversial church group who achieved worlwide noteriety due to being the subject of a couple of Louis Theroux documentaries planned to picket gig goers due to Foo Fighters alleged teaching of “fornication, adultery, idolatry and fags.”

Dave Grohl and his band mates got wind of the protest but, ensuring they had the last laugh, Foo Fighters surprised the protesters with a comedy song; having donned redneck beards, wigs and trucker hats, Foo Fighters took to the back of a pick-up to sing the specially penned ‘Keep It Clean’, their very own ditty to same-sex love.

Video footage has now emerged – At the start of the video, which you can see below, Dave Grohl sings: “I’ve got a hankering for something, think I’m in the mood for some hot man-muffins”

Phil Newall is 47, from The Wirral - he earns his living not writing about music nor playing music...though sorely wishes he could. He was fortunate enough to see many of the first generation punk bands when they played the U18's matinee shows at Eric's, Liverpool. As an attendee at Eric's he was exposed to punk rock, dub reggae, art rock, and all manner of weirdness; as a customer at Probe Records he was variously served and scowled at by Pete Wylie and Pete Burns - he has written for Record Collector, Whisperin & Hollerin, and Spiral Scratch and wanted to write a book detailing the Liverpool punk scene; however with 'Head-On' Julian Cope beat him to it...and frankly did a much better job.
