Florence & The Machine to play the Harrods sale…

Florence And The Machine are to perform at the opening of this year’s Harrods sale, which Florence has agreed to open.

The acoustic gig takes place on the 27th December 2011 and will be live-streamed on the Harrods Facebook page. The Harrods sale ha been confirmed to start at 9am (GMT) and the gig will take place at Harrods Door 5.

Florence And The Machine begin their 2012 arena tour at Dublin’s O2 Arena on 2nd March, and will finish at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena on 16th March. The tour includes three dates at London’s Alexandra Palace on 8/9/10th March – Tickets are on sale now.

Florence And The Machine are currently riding high in the UK chart with the single ”˜No Light, No Light’ ”“ earlier this week a Dave Sitek (TV On The Radio) remix surfaced online. The track is set to feature on a special 12” version of the song, due out next month.

It’s not all good for Flo & her Machine ”“ the official video for the single was recently at the centre of a race row after its makers Arni & Kinski were accused of espousing ‘white supremacist’ views.

  1. Its been quite a year for Flo: Releasing an overwhelmingly mediocre album to universal murmers of indifference, shilling stink-water for Chanel while bodies blockade Wall Street, now this – busking for the mothballed toffs jonesing for a discount, while the ‘s’ is still wet on Christmas.
