Set in a world of illicit exotic creatures, working in underground bionic cat cafés and shady robo-companion bars, the single is a heady mix of animalistic synths, silky vocals, metallic beats, and lashings of fuzz bass.
Pet Show conjures up future subcultures and is inspired by developments in emotional AI and experimental beings, and the primal urge to party.
Feral Five, an electro-punk duo from London and Kent, have been supported across BBC Radio 6 Music, by BBC Introducing, Radio X and more, and are working on their debut album.
Pet Show is released on Friday 7th December on Primitive Light Recordings, and the Ferals support Shaun Ryder’s Black Grape at Brighton’s Concorde 2 on Friday 16th November.
The striking single artwork featuring Feral Five as robot cats, was created by leading anthro artist Strype.
“We’ve bots you can play with
Their skin is so warm
Long distance syncing
We’ll do you a swarm”
The Ferals are writers, performers, producers and remixers – featuring on BBC 6 Music Recommends, and on shows such as Steve Lamacq, and Gideon Coe who made them BBC 6 Recommends track of the week for ‘Kiss’ with the poet Equinox.
