Hotly tipped Warrington based British indie band, Viola Beach and their manager are reported to have been killed in a tragic car crash in the Södertälje district of Stockholm in Sweden, whilst on tour.
Details are fuzzy at the moment with confirmation of the deaths of five men aged 22-33. Their identities are yet to be confirmed but users of Reddit, Facebook and Twitter are reporting the men as Viola Beach and their manager.
The Foreign Office have confirmed that the dead are British nationals and they are in touch with the families.
It is suspected they lost control of their vehicle and plummeted 20 metres off of a bridge into a canal.
The band were on the cusp of breaking through with festival appearances and tours like supporting Blossoms and it was only last October that they received a rave write up on Louder Than War.
We’ll bring more news as we have it and in the meantime our thoughts are very much with their families and friends.
