His music will be featured in the next series of True Blood and the track’s been mastered by the same guy who works with U2, The Killers, Beady Eye and Snow Patrol and Cheryl Hughes thinks he’s great.

This track is addictive, having listened to it numerous times I am still not bored of the pounding rhythm and catchy guitar riffs. It’s definitely one of those thigh slapping, foot stomping songs that’s going to haunt you for the rest of the day.

This great track reminds me of country, Johnny Cash and Civil Wars tunes, and such a great earthy tracks that feel raw. Diesel 13’s voice is attractively addictive too, gruff and old sounding which creates a perfect mix for his songs. Everything about this track seems to melt together, from the first drum beat to the quiet but effective strumming in the background.

His lyrics seem heavy and haunting to the listener “Help me Brother Gabriel, I’ve got to get away”. Diesel 13 says ‘Roar’ is a track about breaking free from your fears and not being stifled. It’s all about being yourself and being free to ‘roar!’ and to not be imprisoned by fear.

This is the first time I have heard of Diesel 13, a builder from London, who works hard to record his amazing grass roots tracks. His songs have been picked up by the country, Texan sound of True Blood. Two of the songs off his new 13 track album ‘Hobo Risin’ have been picked for the 6th season of the TV series.

You need to give this track a listen, if the album is anything like this track then I will definitely be purchasing it! Watch out for Diesel 13… The shadow man’s coming for you!

Diesel 13 can be found on Facebook and at the record company’s website.
