Green Man Festival 2012
17 August 2012

He may be in the middle of a field in Wales but when he gets excited about music he just can’t wait to share! He’s the LTW man at, er, Green Man this weekend and he’s just sent us this little teaser of the festival about tonight’s performance by Dexys.

Dexys took to the Mountain Stage with a set as soulful as it was theatrical in the early evening at Green Man.

It’s fair to say it’s got a bit wet here, but I pitched my tent in a lull in the rain and then scurried through the mud to the main stage just as Kevin Rowland was getting into full swing.

The early part of the set drew several songs from new record “One Day I’m Going to Soar” and the chemistry between Kevin Rowland and the rest of the band shone through. An epic rendition of “Come on Eileen” sent the crowd into a frenzy, with everyone getting into the Dexys groove.

Green Man is very much a family event, but this didn’t effect Dexys unadulterated sultry, sexy show – a real teaser for their upcoming tour.

Managing to blend songs into the set from as far back as debut LP “Searching for the Young Soul Rebels” with new tracks without anyone knowing the difference, Dexys are on some serious form. If you get a chance to see them live – don’t miss it!
