Dexy, South London Singer-songwriter, follows up his 2017 debut album Tear It Down with single Drop Your Hand this week. A talented musician with a wide array of influences; from George Harrison to Elliot Smith and Big Star to Dolly Parton. The latter perhaps the most telling on this release with a modern country lilt to Dexy’s melodic right hook with 60’s inspired vocals.

For this track Dexy worked with Steve Horry, comics writer and artist, record producer and occasional collaborator of Eddie Argos. Written during the summer of 2020, Dexy says, “it’s about moving on from negative experiences in your life, which can be painful and disappointing at first but ultimately cathartic.”

2021 is already looking up with a full album on the cards. Working with reputable producer, Adrian Hall, it’s set to feature a roster of special guests including Lucero’s Rick Steff and Fightmilk vocalist Lily Rae.

If you can’t wait until then, Dexy will also be marking the release of the single by performing a live set via Instagram on Wednesday 9th December at 7pm
