Devo   – EZ Listening Muzak     (Futurismo Inc)

LP / CD – Limited Boxed Sets

Out now

For Mega-Fans Only says Ged Babey as he gives up on reviewing Devo’s ‘Easy Listening’ album; previously collectors item cassette objects of desire for Devo-tees.

This really is a great big stinking pile of American Cheese.

It sucks more eggs than Cool Hand Luke could ever manage

It is 21 rinky-dink instro – Lounge versions of Devo songs – with all of the life sucked out of them.  They sound like cheap Casiotone jingles.

It may be a huge laugh in a post-irony, faux-vintage, lava-lamp kinda way but perhaps its just a great big waste of time, money and vinyl … and my time.

Sorry Futurismo Inc, but hopefully there are plenty of Devo obsessives with money to burn who will buy it once convinced by this slick piece of promotion material.    Back after these messages.
