images-3We are sorry to report the death of Dale `Buffin’ Griffin – the great drummer from one of our favourite all time bands, Mott The Hoople.

The ultimate proto punk band, Mott The Hoople wrote songs that were pure street poetry with rousing, symphonic melodies and for their run in the seventies released a brilliant catalogue of albums that stand the test of time. Dale was the powerhouse drummer in the band that were one of the greatest ever live acts in the UK.

Their recent reformations saw him already too ill to play a full show but he played a couple of songs in the encore and brought the house down when he sat behind the kit.
