The FA has been called many things but Manchester MP Graham Stringer calling them ‘clowns in blazers’ is perhaps the most accurate as they failed to nominate Man United or Man City’s stadiums for Euro 2020 deciding to put all their energies into Wembley stadium instead.
Whilst most countries nominated 3/4 grounds and admitted that their nations exist outside the capital the FA showed their Londoncentric credentials as ever and chose only Wembley- the stadium that most fans don’t like very much anyway.
The FA have a history of clumsy decisions but then they don’t have to please anyone- only themselves.
What do you think? best to concentrate on one iconic stadium or perhaps acknowledge the strength of the national game, er, nationally?
