Donald Trump is the most divisive pleader the USA has ever had.

And I write this as someone who loves America. Or what was America.

Like a bull in a china shop his self serving style of selfishness is riding roughshod over democracy with every day bringing another terrifying and cringe making blunder that he attempts to cover up with blustering attacks on the media and any one who gets in the way of Brand Trump.

Like riding a tank over the well clipped lawns of democracy Trump is bad news for the liberal left and the conservatives with his brand new brand of ‘me me me!’ politics and dangerous lack of regard for the rest of the human race. If anyone really believes a man who has a gold plated lift in his own personal hotel gives a toss about blue collar America then they must be hypnotised by the spectacle of society.

From his Swedish confusion, those ongoing awkward Russian links,  his lack of clarity on his tax returns, his ill judged comments on just about everything and his whole 21st century self obsession he is a one man disaster who has managed to entrance enough people in America to become its leader whilst the rest of nation look on in horror at the kidnapping of their great country.

All empires collapse.

I doubt many people in 1860 would have thought that the sun would actually set on the British empire. Like Rome it felt like it was going to last forever – the ultimate power. Decades later it was all gone.

America is cracking at the seams and it’s a scary site. Of course there always has been adversity of opinion in the great nation – it’s one of those things that made it so loveable but now the fault lines are getting larger and larger and with Trump you can feel the country tearing itself apart – is this even the beginning of the end of the union? Much was made of Brexit vote in the UK helping to speed Trump to power in the USA – when Scotland leaves England in the almost inevitable divorce will that inspire  break up on a much bigger scale in the USA?

No empire is every permanent. Are we watching the beginning of the break up of the USA? a fracture now in hyperdrive with an insensitive and controversial president at the wheel.

The question remains…

Can America survive Donald Trump?

  1. Of course one of the ironies here is that self confessed Christian Donald Trump would have probably banned middle eastern types like Jesus from coming to America
