Britpop top 10 :

number 5 Radiohead ‘Creep’

The swots of the Britpop generation the earnest yet impassioned Radiohead spent a  few wilderness years trying to find friends in the fractured post Madchester terrain when bands would come and go faster than Thom Yorke’s hair cuts. Creep was their masterstroke having all the self loathing of Nirvana channelled through a take on the Hollies the Air That I Breathe given a Pixies twist but updated for a new decade and given a very british Oxford sheen. Beautiful song.
