Bob ‘Derwood’ Andrews – The Generation X Guitarist – Picks His Top Ten Albums : numbers 9/10

For numbers 1/2 in his top 10 please go here

9. R.L.Burnside – The King of Hill Country Blues

With a cheap crap guitar plugged into a cheap crap amp and smiling all the way to the river bank, RL is the real deal. Inspirational…

10. Black Ace – The Black Ace

The only guy I found playing a Lap Steel in a blues style. 100% Rock’n’roll.

Some spiel about the unmissable tour of the UK Derwood is about to embark on with Sean Wheeler & Zander Schloss…

“NTSOBC is delighted to announce a very special double headlining bill with Sean Wheeler & Zander Schloss + UK legend Derwood Andrews. Despite their impeccable punk rock credentials-(Xander played with Joe Strummer, The Circle Jerks & The Weirdos , Sean with Throw Rag and Derwood with Generation X) the vibe is roots music baked in the Californian desert where they all live. They’re part of same desert scene that spawned Josh Homme, QoTSA, Mark Langegan, Desert Session, Eagles of Death Metal etc.

“These shows will be the first time that Derwood has played in the UK & Ireland for 20 years and the welcome return for Sean & Zander following their European tour with their pal Mark Lanegan earlier in the year. Sean & Zander play as a duo and Derwood will play solo.”
