Blissfields Festival Movie Competition Entries Deadline Fri 14th June!
The beautiful Blissfields Festival is offering up a genius short film competition – Electric Dreams – for the second year in a row with the entries deadline being next Friday.
As expected by the kind of crowd you would be amongst at Blissfields the submissions have been genius, strange, ridiculous and endearing. Highlights include Michael Bulls “representation of the free will versus determinism philosophical debate’ which sees glasses sporting Lilly telling the narrator/god to fuck off as she goes about her mundane life. The very innocent stylings of Vicki James in One Chance and A Trip Of The Mind by Andy Windward are lovely little treats of people grabbing cameras and messing with all the features they can get their paws to bash. Expect silliness and hidden gems, and, if you think you could do better, then don’t be shy to get recording!
To showcase some of these whacky delights, festival goers will be ushered into a wild west style setting, whilst this writer refrains from making Good, Bad and Ugly references to the submissions.
The judges this year are: Bee Adamic (Video producer) – Beth Walker (Founder, DocTent) – Chris Bell (Branchage / Shuffle Festival) – Frazer Churchill (Visual Effects Supervisor, Scott Pilgrim and The World’s End) – Joel Ransom (Writer, The News) – Keir Mills (Promoter, Soundtracks) – Nick C (Writer, MCM Buzz) – Nicholas Burman (Music Supervisor, Record-Play) – Simon Brew (Editor, Den Of Geek) – Paul Hanford (Future Cinema / Secret Cinema) – Ray Panthaki (Producer / Actor, Kidulthood and 28 Days Later)
