Looking for a new car, maybe something more economical, maybe something ideal to head off to all those summer festivals, or maybe something a bit more sporty? Do you want a Batmobile? We do, but there’s one catch: it’ll cost you more than a large house.
Casey Putsch, of Putsch Racing, has listed the car on eBay in the US and wants $620,000 (̣383,000) for his prized possession. The current average house price in the UK Р̣228,095.
For your money you’ll get an authentic replica of the Batmobile driven by Michael Keaton in the Tim Burton-directed ‘Batman’ film of 1989. Putsch claims his version is the “world’s only turbine-powered bat car”.
Built in his professional racing facility this year, the car also boasts a 365-horsepower Boeing turboshaft engine, a centrally mounted touch-screen iPad with 3G, and racing approved on-board halon fire extinguishing system (just in case).
In addition, Putsch is keen to stress that his creation is not just for show. He says on the eBay page that “construction is in a completely different league than both replicas and of course the movie prop cars” and that it has a “perfect reliability record”.
The vehicle also runs on jet, kerosene or diesel fuel, so pump mix-ups are unlikely.
